In Memory

William Taylor Wuliger

It is with sadness that I share with you the passing of our classmate and friend, William T. "Bill" Wuliger, on September 7, 2019, in Bentleyville, Ohio. Bill was a devoted husband, father, step-father, grandfather and friend.

He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.  May he rest in peace.

I will truly miss this boldly brash, irreverent, brainy, big-hearted man. Never did he stop trying to convert me, the leftest of Liberals, into a Libertarian. He also made it his quiet practice to generously help those in need of his  wide-ranging smarts, several of our own classmates benefitting. This slow whittling of the '62 Class  ranks brings so much pain, doesn't it?! (Janie Kaiser)

Bill and I went to the same law school and briefly worked in the same law firm.  I remember a notepad of mine at the time that said “from the desk of..”  Bill decided it would be fun to take my note pad and write “I Quit” and place it on my bosses desk.  Wonderful irreverent Bill.  I left Cleveland too early to enjoy his court antics but will always remember his smile.

A few years ago 2 employees left our company with the customer list and started a

competing business. I asked Judge Jim McMonagle to recommend a lawyer; if you

want someone to make their life miserable hire Bill Wuliger. Bill flooded them with paper

work and discovery motions, in a few weeks they raised the white flag and settled. It

was great to reconnect with Bill and work together.

My years at Lomond were enhanced by knowing Bill. He never seemed to be in a bad mood, rather always appeared to be totally happy just being "alive". Anyone who played baseball with him will instantly recall his famous "chant." He had a certain "spark" about him that was noticeable if you happened to in the same room.

Words are cheap but I will say that he was/ IS a truly Good Man!

Wuliger,

Pouncing, prodding, provocateur.

He tended to stand too close as he delivered his jabs, then feint back a little to observe the inevitably shocked response. But, when called out, he would almost immediately temper his remarks, laugh that Wuliger laugh, and smile that Wuliger smile. It was all for the repartee. It was for the interaction, the closeness.

What impressed more than anything was his reaction speed and intelligence in the cut, paree, and thrust. He was a very fun sparing partner.

Wuliger! Shock and Smile. What a hoot. Another cool classmate exits. Bummer.

Willie was a good man.  From the comments posted, most from Lomond School alums, they describe a man who seemed to remain true to himself from his early day on.  Willie certgainly was intense, irrevent and intelligen t.  I last saw him on High Street in Oxford, Ohioin the Spring of 1966 when he introduced me to his fiance.  Bill always seemed to be in a happy mood and had good words to say about everyone.  Janie Kaiser quite accurately described Bill in her comments.  He will be missed. RIP buddy.

Bill was a special person, I did not know him vey well from Lomond, but I do remember High school laughing at his humor.

I was especially surprised to see him at my Daughter Becky's funeral. I learned that he was a close friend with my neice Emily. I believe she let him know of Besky's passing. I could not make arrangements to go to his memorial, I had to take care of my wife who has severe Parkinsons.

RIP -  Tom Kidd

Bill always made me laugh or smile, always with him. Even at reunions he had something new to share about life at Shaker.

Bill had many many friends. Here is one of the gangs to which he belonged.
